Fireworks 2023 – your help is needed

District are organising the 2023 fireworks display again this year and our group has been asked to staff the gates to check tickets.

We need around 25 parent volunteers to help with this task.

District will ‘pay’ parents for their time in the form of funds being given to the group. The more volunteers we can find, the more money we raise for group activities.

As in previous years, the display will take place in Lydiard Park on Saturday, 4th November at 7:30pm.

There are five gates on site which need to be staffed – some are pedestrian entrances, some vehicle entrances. We need:

• 25 parents (or anyone over the age of 18) to work in groups under the guidance of a team leader – 5 to each gate.

We’ll ask everyone to meet at a designated point at Lydiard Park at 4:30pm on Saturday, 4th November.

You are welcome to attend the display at that point (there will be no charge).

If you can volunteer a few hours of your time to help the firework event run smoothly and raise much needed funds for our group, please e-mail  with your name(s) and contact e-mail.

Please note, as names need to be given and numbers are restricted, please only volunteer if you are able to make the dates as no shows cannot be backfilled and lead to difficulties in event organisation, and loss of income for the group.

Two major changes for this year’s event are:

1. It will be ticket only – no payment on gates. This year we just check tickets and assist with incoming vehicles.
2. Everyone attending has to be registered in advance – we must give the names of all who are coming to help.
