Volunteering

Scouting relies entirely on adult leaders giving up their time to plan activities, run the different sections and ensure everyone stays safe.

Our group is fortunate to have over twenty adult volunteers working with the children and providing additional support through the Trustee Board, but we’re always looking for more people willing to help.

Volunteering to help keep Scouting running doesn’t have to take up a lot of your time and it’s a fantastically rewarding thing to do.

There are many different roles you could take from a Section Assistant (regularly helping to run sessions) to an Assistant Section Leader or Section Leader – the latter two roles having more responsibility for planning and organisation.

Leaders are supported by a Group Scout Leader, Assistant Group Scout Leader and a Trustee Board comprising a Chair, Secretary and Treasurer along with several parent representatives. The Trustee Board is responsible for ensuring the group can run, looks after our buildings and is responsible for steering the direction of the group.

If you would be interested in volunteering to help run Beavers, Cubs or Scouts or would like to be part of the Trustee Board do please get in touch – we’d love to hear from you!
