Sections

The 1st Purton & Lydiard Scout Group has three sections – Beavers, Cubs and Scouts.

Beavers is the youngest section, and accommodates children between the ages of six and eight. The focus of Beavers is on having fun and learning to work together as a team.

From Beavers, children move to Cubs and stay until they are between ten and eleven years old. At Cubs, you’ll have the chance to go on your first camp, you’ll learn more about yourself, other people, the World and the role of Scouting in it.

Children can move to Scouts after their time at Cubs and they stay until they are 14. At Scouts, things get more adventurous with rock climbing, canoeing and camping trips aplenty.
