Joining Us
Here is your opportunity to join the largest youth movement in the UK! Young people can join as a Cub or a Scout, whilst those aged 18+ are most welcome to volunteer to support Scouting.
As a Young Person
for young people aged 8 to 10 ½.
for young people aged 10 ½ to 14.

Both our sections have exciting and diverse programmes, taking in all the best of what Scouting has to offer. If you want to find out more about either section, it would be a good idea to have a look around their website section. There is plenty of information about current and past activities, along with details on the award/badge scheme and a few details about how we run our meetings. Don’t forget the pictures!
Scouting is open to both boys and girls. Please bear in mind that the sections may have waiting lists: it varies term by term. As of January 2010, the Scout Troop has a joining list that extends to 2012 and the Cub Pack has an extended joining list now that our Beaver colony is open, but do get in touch to discuss possible options with us.
Interested? Please Contact Us. Feel free to ask if you have any questions.
For more information, you can view the Cubs, Scouts or Parent Information sections of the Scout Association’s website.
Helper/Leader: Adults (Over 18)
We are always on the look out for willing volunteers! There are plenty of different tasks, from helping in the background with Scout Group administration to becoming a warranted leader with our Cub or Scout sections. There is support available every step of the way.
The time commitment can vary from an hour or so a month to a few hours a week, depending on what you want to do. Why not get in contact with the Group Scout Leader for an informal chat about what it involves.
You can also see more information about Adults in Scouting on the Scout Association's Website.
Explorers
This is the section for 14-18 year olds. Take a look in the Explorers section for details of local Explorer Units.
