Autumn 2009 (Oct 2009)
This term we have been concentrating on our Fitness Challenge and have started our Community Challenge too. 5 new Cubs joined the Pack, completing their membership award at Investiture on 21st October. We had a 'healthy lunch' with backwards cooking at the Firs in September, and completed fitness diaries too. A night of Tai Kwon do was enjoyed by everyone.
James was awarded his Cub Scout Silver Award, and Alex his Cub Scout Bronze Award ~ a very WELL DONE to them both!
On 24th October, 10 of the Pack planted 1,000 bluebell bulbs in the 'wild garden' at the Prospect Hospice. We hope this will make a difference to the already beautiful gardens there and encourage more wild life to the 'wild' area. Sheila Wade (the landscape gardener for the hospice) taught the Pack about bluebells, and the wildlife that visit the hospice garden. Look out for the bat and hedgehog houses we intend to make for them! We will revisit the hospice next year to see how the bluebells have grown.
